Thanks to the passion of generous salmon supporters, the Pacific Salmon Foundation is only $2,000 away from its $40,000 year-end fundraising goal. There are still 10 days left to get a year-end tax receipt and show your appreciation for the salmon resource with a tax deductible donation.

If you give by December 31, your donation will be doubled by a matching challenge fund set-up by a group of anonymous donors!

Your donation will support young salmon supporters like Cameron Fletcher (right).  Cameron is the grandson of Norm Fletcher, a member of the Port Coquitlam & District Hunting & Fishing Club since its inception. Cameron has been assisting with hatchery work since childhood. Now a teenager, Cameron is the “resident anaesthesiologist," when baby coho are being clipped. He ensures that the fish are properly sedated in an anaesthetic bath, before their adipose fins are removed, and that every clipping volunteer always has fish to work on.  Hatcheries remove the adipose fins to distinguish them from "wild" stock.

Our grantees are volunteers, so every dollar they receive is directly benefitting salmon. Even a small gift of $25 will make a difference, and we'll send you one of our iconic salmon decals for your car or boat.

Making a tax-deductible donation through our secure online portal only takes a minute, but the impact you are making will benefit generations into the future.

The British Columbia Living Rivers Trust Fund was created in 2006 by Premier Gordon Campell
to fulfill the vision "to create a legacy for the province based on healthy watersheds, sustainable ecosystems and thriving communities."

Funding from the Living Rivers Trust Fund is administered by the Living Rivers Advisory Group, which supports and provides funding for two key watershed business plans in British Columbia:

The Fraser Salmon & Watersheds Program - www.fswp.ca & www.thinksalmon.com

Living Rivers Georgia Basin / Vancouver Island http://livingrivers.ca/gbvi/index.html

Together, these programs have created a strategic legacy for the future of Pacific salmon, water use and watersheds that will support communities, economies and ecosystems in BC.
