Did you know that half of Pacific salmon populations are in decline?
And, that climate change is one of the greatest threat to these keystone species!?
With extreme weather events, such as the recent floods, and the heat waves and drought experienced this summer more likely into the future, we need to accelerate work to help salmon adapt to climate change.
That’s why our team at the Pacific Salmon Foundation is working on habitat restoration and enhancement projects throughout B.C.
Extreme rain events, wild fires, warming rivers, streams, and estuaries with low water levels are anticipated to continue in the years ahead. These environmental conditions are very bad for salmon.
The good news is that with your help, we can act now to help salmon adapt.
This year, thanks to the Sitka Foundation, your generous donation will be doubled! Your gift will be matched dollar for dollar, which means we can carry out vital conservation work to bring back Pacific salmon.
