Pacific salmon need our help.
Pacific salmon are resilient, and PSF is doing everything we can to help them by supporting ‘game changing’ projects to restore and conserve Pacific salmon.
Our independent science aims to uncover solutions to help reverse the declines in abundance of Pacific salmon. We dive deep to unlock the mysteries behind salmon survival in ocean and freshwater habitat pressures, with the goal of understanding the causes of early mortality to drive solutions to accelerate recovery
The development of recovery plans, informed by science, identify the work with the highest impact on salmon recovery. When we know what salmon need, we can invest in high impact community-led restoration projects and scale up our granting to restore salmon habitats amidst changes in climate conditions that threaten salmon.
We provide a voice for salmon, working to activate our scientific expertise as we advance policy and implement solutions to remove threats to survival that are within our control. This includes holding the government to account to keep their commitment to ban open-net pen aquaculture, researching the impacts of toxic tire chemicals in our streams, and advancing the prevention and early detection of invasive species that threaten salmon.
