Create a piece of art inspired by Pacific salmon – let your imagination run WILD! We are accepting submissions of REAL LIFE art entries using the more traditional approach of paints, pastels, acrylics, pens or pencil or GO WILD and experiment with textiles, sculpture, recycled and eco-friendly materials, collages, digital art – anything goes!

PSF is all about Pacific salmon, and we look forward to art entries of salmon or inspired by salmon – use your imagination!

THE RULES

  • All art submissions for the contest must be received by 11:59 PM on Saturday, June 1, 2024
  • If you send your entries in the mail, we can’t return the originals. Please make sure they are postmarked before the contest deadline.
  • Artwork may be created with physical or digital media (Just be sure it’s an original – if digital – painting on an ipad, tablet or drawing program counts, mixed media or enhanced photography counts. Photos with simple filters applied don’t. Entries cannot use copyrighted photography or logos and need to be unique and created by the student artist.)
  • When submitting your artwork by taking a photo or scanning it to send to us, please make sure you use natural lighting. Dark or unnatural light can result in distorted image colour and appearance. Accepted file types are pdf, jpg or png.
  • We aim to inform all winners within 14 days of the closing date of the contest.
  • All entrants must be under 19 and should ask permission from a parent or guardian before entering. If the entry is from a school submission, teacher or school administration permission is sufficient.
  • Prizes are subject to availability. If, in circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to provide the stated prize, we will try to arrange an alternative prize of a similar value. No cash alternative will be offered.
  • PSF reserves the right to cancel or adjust the competition at any time, if deemed necessary or if circumstances arise outside of our control.
  • Open to residents of British Columbia or the Yukon.
  • Entries may be featured on PSF social channels, in our Salmon Steward magazine, or other materials, with artist credit.
