Jim joined the Pacific Salmon Foundation more than a decade ago, hired originally as a Salmon Recovery Programs Coordinator. As the Foundation’s scope broadened, he became Program Manager, and advanced to his current role as Director of Grants and Community Programs.

Jim oversees all elements of PSF’s grantmaking programs, including directing the flagship Community Salmon Program, Stewardship Community Bursary, Partnered Initiatives, and other strategic functions within the Foundation. His department works with DFO’s Salmonid Enhancement Program and the network of over 30,000 salmon stewardship volunteers throughout B.C. and the Yukon.

Jim worked previously at two of B.C.’s most prominent public aquariums in scientific, education, and management roles. He graduated from Simon Fraser University where he studied Marine Biology and Ecology.

He also serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Ucluelet Aquarium and as a regional representative on the provincial Salmon Enhancement and Habitat Advisory Board.
