Granville Island, Vancouver
*The event is free or by donation, but REGISTRATION is required.
The Pacific Salmon Foundation is pleased to host a screening of Bringing the Salmon Home at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island, Vancouver. This documentary tells the story of the Columbia River Salmon Reintroduction Initiative, an Indigenous-led collaboration between the Syilx Okanagan Nation, Ktunaxa Nation, Secwépemc Nation, with Canada and British Columbia. Massive dams have blocked salmon from returning to the Canadian headwaters of the Columbia River for over 85 years. The initiative offers an inspiring model for collaborative Indigenous-led fish and habitat management.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from the Syilx Okanagan, Secwépemc, and Ktunaxa  Nations. We invite attendees to continue the conversation afterwards for a casual reception over some food and beverages, which are included with tickets for the event.
